Data residency
What runs in Pakistan today, what the PK NPU-native pool adds, and what the platform does and does not retain.
Today
The gateway, the control plane, the request telemetry, the audit log and the billing records run on infrastructure in Pakistan. Your keys, your organisation's records, every request's metadata and every billing record are processed and stored there.
Model inference itself depends on the pool a route belongs to:

The catalogue marks each route's pool. For a workload that must not leave Pakistan, use PK NPU-native routes once they open; for everything else, the global routes serve now.
What is retained
- Request metadata: route, upstream model, key, project, status, termination reason, timings, token counts, cost, and any
X-I2-Meta-*tags. This is the request log. - Administrative events: sign-ins, key creation and revocation, renames, deposits, with the acting user and a best-effort source IP. This is the activity log, append-only.
- Billing records: credit added and spend settled, in micro-PKR.
Prompt and completion text are not part of the request log. If a workflow needs them kept, keep them on your side.
The PK Endpoint
The PK Endpoint page states the residency guarantees in full, including what "processed in Pakistan" covers and the disclosure of which routes pass through to global providers. Nothing in these docs supersedes it; where the two could be read differently, that page is the commitment.
Sovereignty as a property of the deployment
Residency on i2 is not a per-request setting to remember. The gateway you call, the store your telemetry lands in and the records you are billed from are deployed in Pakistan; choosing a PK NPU-native route makes the inference itself local too. There is no flag to forget.
